Beaujolais Nouveau......Why?

For the past month people have been asking me about that damn Nouveau. "When is is coming out?" Every year it comes out the third Thursday of November, it's a tradition that sadly never ends. The only time I recommend a Beaujolais, none the less a Nouveau, is when it's the dead of summer and you find it necessary to drink a red wine. Personally I have a problem drinking a deep, bold, and dirty red. For the summer I tend to stick with New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs, Rieslings, and of course Champagne. So for the last time the Beaujolais Nouveau comes out tomorrow, and we'll have it in until you buy the last of those god forsaken cases. If you're a fan those, I would come in early because they'll be gone soon after we get them in. Oh and if you're a fan, don't listen to me...every one's pallet is different. Cheers.

JAQK Cellars World Premier...in Omaha

Last week we had the president of JAQK Cellars, Bernard La Borie, out from San Francisco at our store for a wine tasting. This was the first time and place in whole world that these wines were seen by the public. It happened by accident, as my boss had stumbled across some samples that went across the country to the various distribution houses. As soon as he tried them, he bought the lot. La Borie, impressed with the quick order, accepted an invite to come to Omaha and to our tasting. Bernard was a hit, it seemed like the customers loved him and he did well the staff as well. We get winemakers and big whigs from the wine world all the time, but none of them seemed as down to earth as he. And he represented great wines; the prices ranged from $22 for some of the whites to about $ 70 for the High Roller, which is a very fine Cabernet. These wines have the total package; good juice in a good bottle represented by people who care, thats all we could hope for.
